Taking CBD With Your Coffee

 

What’s the first thing in the morning that over 200 million Americans do on a daily basis?

Drink coffee.

It’s what we use to kick ourselves into high gear early and maintain that explosive energy all day.

Essentially, it’s the lifeblood of the nation.

There are some drawbacks to living a highly caffeinated lifestyle… jitters and anxiety being major side effects.

We’ve all had that feeling before, after the third or fourth cup, when your heartbeat has turned into a hum, you start questioning why you even had that last cup, and all that work you wanted to get done by overstimulating yourself is a fleeting thought in your mind.

But what if there was a way to avoid this without cutting caffeine out of your routine?

Enter CBD.

Cannabidiol, aka CBD, has been touted as a panacea that can help everything from anxiety to cancer. Though much of these claims still need to be further researched and tested, there are thousands of people that are taking this supplement every day to help them manage stress, anxiety, pain, and a whole bunch of other issues.

The real magic happens when you combine your coffee with CBD.

You still get to enjoy the smell of coffee, the taste of coffee, and the supercharged lightning bolt to the heart that coffee gives you, but all the while actually decreasing the anxiousness that you get from it (especially if you are one of us who would take it intravenously if socially acceptable).

There are different ways to take the CBD/Coffee combo depending on your form of CBD.

You can simultaneously ingest the CBD if it’s in a vape, wax, softgel pill, etc all while sipping your fresh brewed cup o’ joe.

If your CBD is in a tincture, you can mix it directly into your coffee, which we prefer, as it’s a little more convenient so you don’t have to be hitting your vape or scarfing down CBD gummies before the sun even rises.

When mixing together both of these amazing elixirs there are a couple of ways to go about it. You can just drop the oil directly into your coffee and take it from there, or you can go a little bit further to not only get the benefits of CBD and coffee but have an amazing tasting beverage as well.

Pilates instructor and wellness advocate Megan Goddard (omeganthree on Instagram) gave us her at home CBD coffee recipe that we just can’t seem to get enough of and we’re sure you are going to love it too.

PEPPERMINT MOCHA CBD COFFEE:

    • 8oz coffee
    • A splash of milk (Your preference!)
    • 1 scoop Furtherfoodcollagen
    • ½ tablespoon cacao powder
    • 1 teaspoon coconut sugar
    • A drop of Deep Roots Tranquil Mint CBD oil

Froth it in a blender with the lid open to allow steam to come out and avoid an explosion. Sprinkle with a little more cacao powder and enjoy!

The powerhouse combo of CBD and coffee is sure to get you through the day as always, but with less of the edge that comes from caffeine. Like all supplements, you should experiment to find the combination that works for you.
